Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We focused most of our attention on curve sketching, which the student will have a quiz on this week. The conceptual questions we focused on required analyzing graphs of either the first or second derivative of a function in order to determine information about one of the other derivatives or the original function. Toward the end, we reviewed related rates, which will be on his final."
"We went over his answers to a past assignment. After finishing that, we reviewed some of the material that will be on his upcoming test. I have asked him to email me with any questions he has before Thursday's test, but aside from that, his goal for the week is to review example problems in preparation for the test."
"We worked on the student's assigned homework on integration and u-substitutions. We also reviewed some trig identities involved with integration equations. Other topics reviewed included the Riemann Sums theorem and trapezoidal rule."
"The student said she felt more comfortable with conics after our last two sessions. We focused on two-variable equation systems, three-variable equation systems, inequalities, and inversion equations. I covered each section with her and a sample problem and then she completed a couple problems on her own. I think she was pretty confident with the material after completing a couple problems in each section. I tried to also guide her to use the fastest method for each type of problem so she can save time in tests."
"Solving problems with radicals and exponents. Inequalities. The student is steadily understanding the material."
"We reviewed her last test results and went over the questions that she got wrong. We then went over to the questions that she had on her homework. The results on her last test went up by 38 points over the previous test."
