Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This is our last session; we have to do some improvement to bring up her score, and she did good on her third exam. As long as she can finish all the homework, she will be satisfied with the final grade she will have."
"The student and I covered recognizing patterns in a number series, mean, median, and mode calculations. We also covered solving word problems involving equations, which we will need to revisit."
"We went over more radicals and exponents, and worked on fractional and negative exponents again. I left the student with some practice problems. So far she is doing very well."
"This week, we covered equations, namely factoring and inequalities. She had trouble with the original lesson, so we paused and reviewed the lesson throughout the time period. The student enjoyed a connection made between the equations and her current work as a nurse. She believes it will help her throughout the next few weeks. She will receive worksheets revolving around the skills taught via e-mail from me. Her grades have improved, and I'm looking forward to working with her again!"
"Today we did some more complex problems with factoring quadratics, including perfect square quadratics. Finally we discussed the quadratic equation, and how to use it to solve for the roots of a quadratic equation. For the science portion of the lesson, we did classwork that solidified the concepts on waves. For homework, he is to finish the assignment, which correlates with the reading assignment from the previous session. The student is doing a great job at staying on top of his assignments."
"We covered simplifying expressions with exponents, converting between scientific notation and standard form, and multiplying/ dividing with scientific notation. She struggled a bit with determining where the decimal goes when writing in scientific notation at first, but she got the hang of it after doing more problems. I included guidelines for simplifying expressions with exponents (shortcut way) and the scientific notation concepts. I also gave her some homework problems."
