Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I looked over linear equations and found equations of lines parallel or perpendicular to a given line and through a specified point. We also did several exercises to find values of angles given some specific relationships."
"The student and I met for one last session before his final exam, and we addressed any last questions that he had. We especially dedicated some time to setting up word problems dealing with rate and mixtures that were giving him issues. I have no doubt he will do really well on his test, just like his last one."
"The student and I mostly covered the material she had learned in class earlier that day. We went over concurrency within triangles, e.g., incenters, centroids, etc. She and I agreed that the most difficult part of this concept will be remembering which is which. I advised her to practice the different concurrency concepts frequently. She had a great attitude and was focused on her work throughout the session."
"The student and I prepared for her upcoming exam on quadrilaterals. We looked through a review packet, and she did pretty well with most of the material. I showed her a few different pages in her textbook that I thought were particularly helpful, as they list all of the properties of the different quadrilaterals that she will end up being tested on. She seems to be improving with probability problems, as she had very little difficulty with the probability problem we looked at. She also informed me that her grades have been improving, and she now has a 95% in the class! She seemed like she had a good handle on the current material, so she should do well enough on her next exam to maintain her A."
"The student and I prepared for his semester exam together. I made a practice test that he completed, and then we worked through the questions on it that he missed or guessed on together. We then completed his study guide, which covered chapters 1 through 9. The student did pretty well on these problems."
"The student and I prepared for tomorrow's quiz. The material covered the exterior angle theorem, similar triangles theorems (SSS, SAS, SSA, & AAS), proofs, CPCTC, angle and segment bisectors, and a smattering of circle properties. She had no homework assignment other than studying for her quiz, so I asked to go through previous homework problems and ask for clarification on any of them. I also gave her a few tips on quiz/test-taking strategies."
