Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student is continuing to work through the units on electricity. This week focusing on the pressure difference in a circuit and how that drives current, and how it is necessary for light bulbs to light. She worked on worksheets that involved color coding parts of a circuit based on the pressure (potential) in that part of the circuit. She has been doing really well understanding the concepts of this unit. To confirm some of her hypotheses, we set up a circuit to test the brightness of bulbs in parallel."
"We covered a review session for a physics test. We covered all major concepts on high school level for electrostatics. Topics included calculating charges, describing atomic polarity, describing voltage, current, and resistance, and how to calculate all three. We also covered some algebra topics for factoring 3rd degree polynomials."
"I checked out the student's physics binder which was in relative order. We went through the work she had to do to catch up from her missed day as well as the normal work on heat and energy. She understood most of it, but there were a couple specific cases that I gave a few examples for in order to clarify what was going on. I also tried to get a sense of what the class was like and what parts aside from the actual concepts might be giving her trouble."
