Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over problems involving area and perimeter, and graphing linear functions. By the end of the session, the student demonstrated that he understood the work by solving the problems correctly."
"We worked on an assignment covering linear and non-linear systems of equations. She had a pretty good handle on it by the end of the session and was able to complete the assignment on her own."
"The student is preparing for his final and his AP test, so we will meet twice a week for the next two weeks to prepare. We went over his review. Mostly he just needed reminding, as he's learned all of this already."
"The student has an individual Algebra 2 test on Thursday, and she had a group test on Tuesday. We worked to make sure she understood all of the concepts from Chapter 4. Knowing that we plan to meet again today, we only worked through the first half of graphing sinusoidal functions. We plan to finish the review today and make sure that she is entirely prepared to match her group test grade on the individual test."
"The student and I worked on a review packet for an upcoming test covering types of relationships, direct and inverse, as well as combined and joint relationships with multiple independent variables. He also worked on completing homework and reviewing how to graph rational functions, how to find the vertical and horizontal asymptotes, and using a table to get points to graph the functions."
"Now that we have moved on to trigonometry, I have made it a focus to work on the student's understanding of the sine and cosine and the coordinate system associated with it. So as we delve deeper into the subject, I will be constantly reminding and pushing him to know what general triangles and coordinates we are working with. The more he recognizes them, the better he will be in the long run. We reviewed his homework, which mostly had to do with finding the sine, cosine, and tangent ratios, and then followed up by using arcsine, etc. I assigned him some work to have done before next time that requires him to work between both these types of problems. He has a quiz on Friday, and we will work to master these concepts before then. We will cover preparations for the quiz thoroughly on Thursday."
