"The student did very well. We went over DBQ strategies and Frq. He takes the test tomorrow. He was a great student and he should do fine on the test."
"The student and I went over some of the terms from the Gilded Age/Progressive Era. He had worked on them up until WWII. We also went over a question (almost two) from the FRQs."
"We covered AP test review for the Cold War this session. It is a huge subject and we will continue going over this material during our next session as well."
"Today we covered early processes of differentiation, and derivative concepts. She struggles mostly with setting up the problem and performing this type of differentiation, but she isn't used to seeing derivatives this way. Once we went over a few problems, she felt better about the process. Using a single derivative process helped her better understand how to approach the examples. We went over every type of example in her packet. She had more questions and practice to do, and I have no concerns from this session."
"The student was reviewing for her exam on forces. We worked on her review worksheet until we ran out of time. We spent the bulk of our time learning how to draw force diagrams, determining what forces were present, and using Newton's second law to solve for an unknown. She is planning on going to her teacher's review sessions, and will schedule another session with me before Friday if she still has more questions."
"The student and I started out the session with a review of her multiplication of sevens timetables. Then, we worked on exponents, specifically squares of numbers one through 12. We also looked at the meaning behind square and cube numbers as well as some patterns that emerged when adding odd digit numbers. She has been catching on quicker than ever and has a great attitude in session. Today, we talked about the importance of completing all your work in preparation for school. She responded well."
