Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked with a review packet that she got today in preparation for her test in a few days. Tomorrow, we are going to have another session to review the rest of the material that is going to be on her test later this week. We talked more about buffer solutions, solving for pH and pOH, using the Henderson-Hasselbach equation, talking about enthalpy and thermodynamics, and working with Ksp and molar solubility. We are going to have another session at the same time tomorrow."
"Today we worked on extra fraction review since the student did not learn any new material in class today. We primarily focused on simplifying, because he struggled with that the most last time, and he did well. We also did some challenging word problems, but he had no problems with them. It was a good session!"
"The student and I looked at his quiz. We went over the four types of centers of circles and their interesting properties. Finally, we discussed parallelograms and their important theorems, such as diagonals bisecting each other and consecutive angles being congruent."
"Today, the student and I completed the ACT math section from last time. He had trouble with some of the concepts toward the end of the section, which makes sense, as the difficulty gets ramped up. He was good at picking up what he didn't know, so hopefully, he will have a bit less trouble, and I will continue to teach and correct him as we continue our work."
"We had a great session. I introduced the student to some online tools for math drills and he made some great progress. He is slowly getting back into the swing of school so we are reducing sessions down to once per week. I am excited to see how he keeps progressing!"
"We worked on the student's AP calculus test packet, completing through part of the section on exponents and logarithms. There were also a number of problems on her precalculus review packet that she needed some help with. We can discuss them during our next session."
