Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In today's session, we called the student to inquire about the virus protection that was installed. It looks like the current installed anti virus software is up to date and running. It would be helpful to do routine scans to ensure that the PC is virus free. I also helped install an ad blocker to keep ads from popping up and also I made sure her internet browsing was secure by using the Avast internet plug in."
"We covered the concepts of designing a programming syntax, documentation, and more. Most of what the student was struggling with was the PowerPoint material the professor has gone over. The student's attitude toward the material was great. He was confused on some parts, and we went over them accordingly. Most strategies I included were analogies, and example based demonstrations. The student preferred to review the PowerPoint with their notes after the session. Definitely confirmed that he understands the material much more now. No concerns for now, and next session will be discussed."
"The student and I worked on tree traversals and pathfinding algorithms. She tends to get confused when talking about how to traverse a tree, so we will practice using trees until this feels more intuitive."
"The student showed good progress from the prior day, having independently completed several tasks smoothly and in a more efficient manner with fewer errors. He seems much more comfortable with basic computerized tasks and less anxious. Today, we reviewed basic email tasks, added a few more quick-texts, and worked on building his comfort level with a few new websites. He will continue to work on building proficiency and will let me know if he needs further tutoring. However, much of his progress moving forward will depend on his own initiative to practice and continue to gain proficiency."
"The student understands the inner workings of word, powerpoint, and excel. We created a mini project with some interesting tricks. She should build a larger project and have someone review it and work with her on simplifying and adding features."
"We covered basics on how to use Facebook, such as the difference between posting ('posting is public') and messaging. I also helped the student create a template for her word documents. Furthermore, I taught her how to create a signature for her e-mails."
