Though most of the problems are new to the student, she did well after I explained some basic concepts and how to do different types of problems. After the problems that were difficult, I would give her an extra practice problem and she did well."
"The student and I had our first meeting today, and it went very well. We worked on equations of lines, finding the intercepts, using slopeintercept, pointslope and parallel and perpendicular lines. He did quite well with these concepts, and should master them with just a little more practice. I look forward to our next meeting."
"Session with the student. Today we went over a test review for an exam she has tomorrow. The material covers the unit circle, trig functions, and the law of cosine and sine. We have done a lot of review and practice for this test and I think she will do very well on it."
"Today's session was a review before the student's midterm exam. We discussed discrete H+ ions and Arrhenius acids (H30+). We went through review for the exam and talked about polyprotic acids (more than one proton), subsequent dissociation, knowing the meaning of Kb (base dissociation) and finding pH level. We also talked about acidity being the ease of H+ leaving an acid, and oxoacids like HClO."
"We finished reading a short story. We worked on some irregular verbs that are challenging for the student: conocer, saber, venir, tener. I had a brief chat with her to assess her progress after a week of recess."
"In this session, I helped the student with logarithms. I showed her a few examples of how to manipulate logs using log properties, and how to solve log equations. I also pointed her in the right direction with some of her homework by giving her a few hints about each problem. Lastly, we practiced some word problems. I showed her one problem, then she did the next. She needed less help compared to last time we did word problems. She has improved her understanding since we began, and I think she will do great on her final exam."
"During this session we worked on math and chemistry. In math we covered the following topics from chapters 4.14.4: exponents, looking for patterns in integer exponents, properties of exponents and scientific notation. In chemistry we covered simple machines."
"Continued working with the student on her Word Masters words by reviewing their spelling and definitions, as well as having her create sentences using the words to make sure she understands the meaning and usage. Also, briefly discussed synonyms and antonyms and identified words from her list as synonyms and antonyms. She has an excellent grasp on the words and their usage."
"The student and I spent the first half of our session today on reading. She read a short story. At the end of each page, we discussed what was going on, summarized character traits/plot, and made predictions of what would happen in the rest of the story. Then she answered 15 multiple choice questions about the story  she did a great job. If she didn't get the correct answer at first, she quickly corrected herself as she started talking through it. We spent the last 20 minutes of the session doing multiplication, and she did a great job today!! We did five practice tests (50 questions each, to be done in 2 minutes or less)  in all, she only got one problem wrong the whole time! She successfully completed 4 tests in under two minutes  one at 1:12!! She is getting much better at this  practice makes perfect!"
"The student and I worked on word problems, long division, and multiplication problems. In addition, we reviewed ratios and proportions. We also practiced with various objectives covered on the math section of the test, as well as testtaking strategies and applications."

"We solved some questions from his exam review for algebra and then we worked on vectors addition and direction on physics. We solved several questions together and he learned how to solve vector questions. He is doing great and he is smart."
