Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We spent the session preparing for an upcoming economics exam. The student already had a solid understanding of the concepts included in the test, but he needed to review all of the formulas involved and how to use them. I broke down every formula for him and showed him what every variable/constant represents. I then showed him how all these formulas are applied before I let him try to use them for some examples. After completing the examples, we spent the rest of the session going over and completing his study guide."
"We went over a quiz and some new material, all of which will be on the upcoming test. The chapter is on proportions and the student understands well how to do the work. Setting up the problems correctly seems to be a challenge with the problems that are presented in different ways. We did go over all of that, so I feel like this shouldn't be much of a problem in the future."
"We went over a test that the students had recently taken. After I reviewed some concepts and gave them clarification on certain steps for finding slopes and lines, they felt more comfortable. The second half of the session was spent going over substitution and elimination."
"We went over a variety of problems about solving equations with one variable. The student struggled at first regarding the steps in the process, but after some practice, he got it going."
"We went over additional practice on the topics covered in the student's class: unit conversion and percent. In addition, we reviewed the previous topics of multiplying binomials and solving literal equations."
"We went over algebra concepts that will appear on the student's test. We also worked on simplifying algebraic expressions and solving equations. We also discussed factoring and FOIL."
