Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Did a final wrap up of the ACT overall. Some key tips that will help the student on the test would be: do NOT be afraid of the pictures on the science portion, and work slowly and carefully."
"The student and I reviewed short a and short o sounds in the student reader. We did consonants l,m, n, r, and s. We practiced blending in syllables on the magnetic board and did spelling practice on the white board. We also read a picture book together and practiced sight word flashcards sent home by his teacher."
"We covered chapter 1-3 of her 9th grade advanced biology class since she has a final soon on chapter 1-5. Specific topics included: The scientific method, evolution, unity, diversity, atoms, molecules, properties of water, rearrangement of atoms, introduction of organic compounds and polymers, carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids."
"The student and I went over many different math problems from past tests, quizzes, and worksheets in order to review for his final exam. Topics covered included special triangles, sine, cosine, tangent, properties of circles, and analyzing segment length."
"This was the student's last session. It went really well. Again we focused on review for her final by doing questions in the book. We looked at questions on molecular formula, kinetics, acids and bases, and Gibbs free energy. I definitely think she should be prepared for her exam. I advised her to continue memorizing her equations and to keep looking over her review sheet and do a few problems each day. She is smart and hardworking and I think she has the potential to do very well. She said these sessions have been very helpful, which gave me great pleasure to hear."
