"We went over the problems I assigned to the student last week. We covered perfect squares, completing the square again, solving for x using factoring, and applications of systems of equations. We started with functions and kinds of functions (linear and quadratic)."
"We worked on a review of the student's essay regarding box plotting, histograms, their relationships to each other and the data, and null/adverse hypotheses. Then we reviewed some homework online using mean, median, and standard deviation."
"We worked on a review of the student's math homework for the week. The concept was dividing decimals. The student studied this last year, so this was a review. She did well applying her concept skills to problems with real-world applications."
"We worked on decimal place values. We will continue to work on multiplication facts and increase our focus on extra practice with decimals and fractions."
"We worked on editing and revising a paragraph. This was tough for both students, as there were a lot of different types of errors in the paragraph; however, both kids persevered and learned a lot. We talked in depth about spelling and grammar errors, including using commas in lists and when spelling plural words that end in y we need to drop the y and add -ies (ex: puppy/puppies). We also talked about conjunctions, interjections, and perfect present/past/future tense."
"We worked on estimation and adding four and five digit numbers. The student had a positive attitude when working. She would ask questions and state when she was confused about things. I included strategies such as knowing the zero rule and adding. She had a lot of worksheets and math books to assist her with the concepts."
