"We worked on Limits and briefly talked about the Intermediate Value Theorem. The student was struggling with Trig Limits the most. I was a little rusty on these types of problems at first, but once I remembered what I was doing, I was able to help her understand these problems. I also showed her some useful resources that will help her if she is stuck while doing her homework. In my opinion, limits are the hardest topic covered in Calculus 1, and she does have a pretty good understanding of them already."
"We worked on precalculus and chemistry. For precalculus, we graphed the unit circle and the sin and cos functions. We talked about recognizing patterns in the graphs, the unit circle, and in trigonometric functions. For chemistry, we worked on gas laws. We discovered how the ideal gas law is a combination of Charles' Law, Boyle's Law, and Avogadro's Law. We discussed the R term and its specific function graphically in the ideal gas law. We also discussed how heat, pressure, volume, and the number of particles influence each other in a system."
"We worked on product and quotient rule, exponent differentiation, and power rule. He got a 4/5 on his last quiz and was pleased. He feels calculus is overall going very well."
"We worked on review problems for inverse functions and their derivatives. We also walked through the process of finding critical points, regions of increasing and decreasing, inflection points, and regions of concavity up and down. We scheduled additional sessions where we will prepare for an upcoming exam."
"We worked on sequence proofs today. We started mainly with the Archimedean property with n and (1/n). She does well with following me, so I think she will be fine with the upcoming tests. She sometimes doubts herself, but if she continues to study hard, she will be fine."

In this session we covered, calculate the derivative by 4 step limit process; application of derivatives in loan cost; physical meaning of the derivative, units, and its sign; how to graph the function using calculator; how to find the equation of a tangent line at a point on a function; how to find the normal line to the tangent line when the derivative was given as a slope of the line."
