Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This was a very wide ranging, but productive meeting. We worked through a range of permutation, series, combination, sequence, and quant comp problems. I also shared with the student quite a few of my resources to further aid his studying."
"We covered general math tips and went over ~20 sample questions. Specifically, we covered triangles, exponents, area & volume, and various other word problems. The student was very engaged and was quick to pick up on concepts. I left ~15 sample questions for homework in addition to extra topics to review."
"We covered lines, fractions, solving systems of equations, exponent laws, and r*t=d problems. We also gained an intuitive grasp of how to solve linear inequalities. Next time, I plan to focus more on exponential problems before delving into topics like repeated sums and spend some time on geometry."
"We reviewed distance/rate/time word problems, formulas for 2-D shapes, and last minute tips for the GRE. The student will be taking the actual test this Saturday, and he is ready! He'll need to be careful with the small calculations."
"Discussed arithmetic and geometric sequences. Found common difference and common ratio. Solved for missing elements of a series using the mean. Addressed age problems with a chart. Practiced problems in compound probability and proportion."
"During this session, I started by helping the student with some math practice problems that she had trouble with while studying on her own. I then finished up covering the last part of the GRE quantitative concepts, going over how to solve Venn diagram problems involving unions and intersections. We then did some geometry practice problems, and I then briefly covered some strategies for the GRE verbal and writing sections. She is taking the GRE next Friday, and plans to let me know if she has any final questions next week."
