Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed logs. We worked on her homework, which involved solving for x in an exponential equation and also solving for x in a log equation. We practiced using the properties of logs and exponential functions (inverses) to help us solve for x. We also reviewed the change of base property and the property for log(x*y) and log (x/y). Lastly, we reviewed the "parent" graph for log(x) and its domain."
"The student reported the long-awaited, but well-earned increase in her score. Her math score improved. We looked over a worksheet covering transformations. The student has a good hold on this."
"Went over first three sections of the textbook for limits. The student was able to properly use mechanics. Next session will emphasize practice. Overall, she was attentive and demonstrated a good willingness to put in more practice. -Covered hw problems and questions. -Discussed more about the concepts of limits. - Recommended school to reinforce basics. Next session scheduled for same time next Sunday."
"For this session, the student had some review problems that she wanted some help with. After I explained them and gave her some hints, she was able to solve them on her own. I also gave her some help with physics, since she had a problem set that she did not know how to do."
"In the session today, we continued the review on trig graphs. The student was unclear on how to draw out a graph given various translations. By the end of the session, he was more comfortable with the sine and cosine graphs."
"Today the student and I covered practice for her quiz tomorrow: sequences and series, arithmetic and geometric series, sums of series. We went through several study guides and the "Check your Math" packet."
