Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on having him work independently on his math. He does very well with his identification words."
"We worked on math vocabulary. The words were expression, multiple, overestimate, partial products, power, underestimate, and variable. We multiplied and estimated products of whole numbers. The next topic is multiplying decimals."
"We worked on multiplying decimals and the student's social studies vocab. She has been doing really well with using partial products to solve math. We then did science on volcanoes and earthquakes, and how they relate to the Earth's crust."
"We worked on multiplying decimals and whole numbers as well as multiplying/dividing numbers by 10, 100, and 1000. For multiplying decimals and whole numbers, he picked up the concept well but tried to do some of the problems in his head. We've been working on him showing his work, which he still isn't too thrilled about, but he is getting a little better. He had a little bit of difficulty at first when we were multiplying/dividing numbers by 10, 100, and 1000, but when I explained you just move the decimal point to the right or left he got the rest of the problems. Overall, I think it was a good tutoring session, and I left him with about 8 pages of homework."
"We worked on reading some two-letter sight words, and the student did it! He was sounding out the words with some help. We also worked on counting and adding. We ended with reading a book about pumpkins, since his class is going on a field trip to a pumpkin patch."
"We worked on reflexive pronouns. We worked on finding probabilities. She got her progress report and she is doing very well. We are all very proud."
