Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"At the beginning of the session, the student worked on division of fractions. The second part of the lesson was reviewing some of the concepts that were introduced in class and working on the division of decimals."
"The student worked through a math worksheet on finding equations for parallel and perpendicular lines. In the near future, however, he will need to review these topics again."
"Today we reviewed vocabulary from Chapter 3. We went over all the types of angles and angle pairs. He made note cards that should be in his math folder for daily review. He might have a quiz on Thursday on parallel and perpendicular lines."
"The student's class is preparing to begin using equations to plot graphs. So far, they have been plotting data points to complete linear lines, but haven't yet worked backwards to fill out the equation of that line. We worked extensively on solving for variables, and after she solved many problems successfully and with minimal guidance from me, I took her deeper into solving more abstract problems with multiple variables, as she will eventually encounter, even when rearranging equations into slope/intercept form."
"We practiced using a protractor to measure and draw angles. She sometimes would get confused about which direction to read the measure from, but we think getting a transparent protractor will help. I also quizzed her on multiplication and division flash cards, where she has improved tremendously."
"The student and I worked on some practice problems he asked me to find to make up for the lack of a final review. Some of the questions weren't lining up initially but overall we got in a very solid review of random variables and hypothesis tests."
