"First, the student did her vocabulary words. Next we practiced various math problems to help prepare her for the assessment test. Last we worked on math flash multiplication cards. I have been showing her alternate ways to calculate the problems she does not remember."
"The student and I continued reading "Fever 1793," including definitions of vocabulary and identifications of figurative language. I asked him to summarize what we read together, and he was able to include all of the main ideas. He is to continue reading on his own over the weekend."
"The student and I reviewed graphing using slope and intercepts, parallel and perpendicular lines. We also talked about domain and range, as well as the difference between a function and a relation. Finally, we worked on composition and decomposition of functions."
"The student and I reviewed for an upcoming test. We mainly focused on 3.4 and 3.5. We talked about how to find inverses and then how to graph them. We talked about graph transformations from the parent graph. We also did a little bit of inequalities; where she had to both solve and graph them including absolute inequalities. She is very bright."
"The student and I worked through his Chemistry review sheet in preparation for his making corrections on the test. I instructed him to finish the stoichiometry problems using his past homework as a guide."
"We first warmed up with "five chess" game. They are getting better and better at it! They're also more used to hearing and responding to instructions in Chinese. I checked their homework and we did the numbers game again, and this time the record is 73. We then reviewed the writing of characters. I gave them a quiz, and they did well on writing but still struggled on Pinyin, so we reviewed Pinyin and analyzed it step by step. We then did conversation and Q & A. Today's new vocab words to say and write were good morning, female, and male. We analyzed each character and practiced how to write them. The homework is to write each character 10 times."
