Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I continued to go over her review questions. We covered topics about integrating over the y axis, FTC part 1, and 1st & 2nd derivative tests. She is doing well."
"Today we went over the list of concepts that his teacher provided for his final. What I did was pretty much listed out each concept and wrote notes on what he needs to study for these materials and any idea that he needs to remember/be aware of. Then, we went over some problems to solidify his derivation and integration skills."
"The student has her final exam soon. In this lesson, we first went over her most recent test that she got back. She did well. She understood how to do everything for the most part. We went through the textbook going over the middle third of the material from the course. Since a lot of it is cumulative, she was fairly comfortable with many of the concepts, but we brushed up on a few. With the time remaining, we re-reviewed the most recent material she had been learning, focusing on optimization."
"Tonight the student and I had a quick last-minute session while he was preparing for his final in the morning. We covered a few derivative problems that used some natural log and e^x techniques that he was still struggling with. We also continued to look at some relative extremum problems using the first derivative and critical points to determine where a curve would have a local maximum or a local minimum. We finished off with a derivative that incorporated a couple different techniques, and he seemed a little more comfortable with it while we finished."
"The student and I continued working through his final review sheet. In particular we looked at speed and velocity problems. Additionally we covered a bulk of problems involving the product, quotient, and power rules. We should meet between one and two more times before his final next week."
"We continued to work real world problems involving applications of differential calculus and the chain rule to motion and max/min problems."
