Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked through several test questions and covered a variety of problems. I had to refresh on several specifics. I suggested he send me some files ahead of time so we don't have to spend in-session time on it."
"We reviewed 2+ digit addition and subtraction, mental math, as well as understanding what phrases like "twice as much" mean in word problems. The student seemed to enjoy working on 2+ digit addition/subtraction problems."
"We reviewed matrix multiplication, determinant, inverse, transpose, Gaussian elimination, and solving for eigenvalue/vector. All the math is going well, but making a study sheet will be important to keep the proper equations with their process. The student should keep practicing matrix multiplication and do everything we've discussed on one simple example. I also suggest making vocab word flashcards or a little word bank that can be easily glanced at."
"The student got a lower than expected score on his inequalities test. Upon review, we determined that he made some minor errors with computations and positive/negative sign. We then pressed forward into the next chapter and covered monomials. He is in good shape all around!"
"We corrected work that was sent home by the student's teacher. We also reviewed a quiz that he had taken previously. We spent the rest of the time working on the multiples of 4s using flashcards that I provided."
"We went over some of the material the student recalled from his test. We also went over factoring quadratic equations and keys and procedures to factor them. For the most part, he understands the process but he needs to write down all of the information so he is sure to efficiently arrive at the answers. We also reviewed about 30 homework problems. We are going to meet again Tuesday to go over Chemistry homework."
