Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the student and I reviewed stoichiometry, the mobile, conversions between moles, liters, molecules, and molecular weight. We also went over solubility, like dissolves like, molarity and calculations involving solubility. We went over how to slow down and how to underline key phrases in the question to help us get to our answer."
"We covered solubility, redox reactions, molarity, and balancing equations for the student's upcoming exam. She is going to work on memorizing solubility laws and keep practicing balancing double-displacement and redox reactions. We're going to meet one more time before her test."
"We went over logarithms and exponential functions in math, and in chemistry we covered balancing chemical equations, mole ratios, and a lab worksheet. She hadn't learned a specific formula that she needed for the math problems, so I introduced that to her quickly and she was able to use it effectively. The chemistry was a little challenging to try and understand what the question was asking her to do, but once she figured that out she was able to do all the questions fairly easily. The lab worksheet wasn't too terribly challenging, but I did have to walk her through what was happening chemically. I think this was the first time that she had to classify chemical changes based on her observations alone. The math wasn't too complicated once I showed her the correct formula to use, and she was able to work through most of the problems correctly."
