Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked through a bunch of topics, like chi-squared analysis, T-tests, and the Fisher exact test. She had lots of questions and I provided examples when I could to assist in explaining the topics. It was a challenge, as she kept asking for information on new topics, but we got through it!"
"We worked through lab problems for a lab on determining composition of a hydrate. We worked through calculations and analysis of the data from a recent lab experiment. While there was one section that we could not figure out, we were able to figure out where the confusion was so that she could have a specific question to ask her professor about."
"We worked through practice problems covering metric units, scientific notation, significant figures, and dimensional analysis. She did really well, and I gave her a short assignment to practice on her own. We also talked about the periodic table and what we would cover next session."
"We worked through problems from test 2, including acids/bases, equilibrium, the Henderson-Hasselbach equation, buffers, the "ICE" method, pH/pOH, pKa/pKb, and ways to solve quadratic equations quickly."
"Went over another SAT math without a calculator section. Documented areas the student had trouble with and will prepare lessons for future sessions. Will have him take a test for real in next session to establish a benchmark."
"Went slower this time compared to last time to focus more on board usage and explaining the chemistry behind each problem. Next session will focus on specific areas of chemistry (solubility and k values) rather than just test review."
