Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The topic of today's session was stoichiometric calculations. Student struggles most with algebraic manipulation during chemical calculation. Student is highly motivated and obviously works to learn concepts. Student has an exam next Tuesday. Student is growing more confident using the Factor label method of problem solving."
"In today's session, the student worked through additional stoichiometry problems with minimal intervention. The student is becoming more proficient at working these types of problems. We also worked through one of her labs that built on stoichiometry and included calculations for percent yield of the reaction. Additionally, the student reported a quiz grade that she was pleased with. In our next session we will move forward with expanded problems related to limiting reactant and other molar problems."
"In tonight's session, the student and I spent more time working on his chemistry conversions. He has been doing extremely well since our last session, but he was having some minor difficulties setting up the Molarity problems. After completing our session this evening, he is much more confident about the material."
"We worked on thermochemistry, with a particular focus on calorimetry. We went through the conceptual information first before working on equations. The student understood the equations and problems with practice."
"We worked on two of the student's current assignments in Biostatistics. We went through the results and how to interpret an ANOVA and the multiple comparisons test. We also went through how to run a Spearman's rho correlational test. It was very productive, and the student seemed much more confident in the use of the program SPSS as well."
"We worked on unit conversions for chemistry. The student made progress, but could use a bit more repetition in the next day to solidify what we did. She also did some algebra homework with identifying functions."
