"Today's session continued work with identifying dipoles in molecular bonds, determining molecular shapes, polar molecules and intermolecular forces. We worked through the review problems in the student's textbook and a review worksheet. The student expressed more comfort with the subject matter. There were a couple of questions that require clarification from the instructor. The student will follow up with those problems."
"We worked on stereochemistry and redox reactions/oxidation numbers to help the student prepare for her exam on Wednesday. Reviewing stereochemistry was a little challenging due to not having a molecular model set, but we still made progress with understanding chirality, assigning priorities to groups around a chiral carbon, and determining R/S configuration. Then, we moved on to redox reactions and practiced assigning oxidation numbers, identifying redox reactions, and determining which species is oxidized and reduced. We will meet again on Tuesday to continue working on stereochemistry and other topics before the exam."
"We worked on t-test analysis of a particular data set. We walked through the different types of t-tests, the assumptions needed, and how to interpret the data correctly. At the end of the session, the student felt more confident in the material we covered than at the beginning of the session. We discussed the next assignment, and how she would tackle those problems."
"We worked on the citric acid cycle. We reviewed intermediates, enzymes, and energy. We also reviewed CO2 production in metabolism in general. We worked through questions from the database. We also discussed how the citric acid cycle ties into fatty acids and reviewed rate determining one direction steps."
