Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We talked about Orthogonality of the Bessel function, and we applied separation of variables to solve a PDE."
"Today, the student and I worked on simplifying, solving and graphing rational expressions, equations and functions, and arithmetic and geometric sequences and series. She needed help graphing rational functions, so we went over that in detail. He completed review rational expression concepts in preparation of his in-class quiz. He also introduced himself to chapter 9, which established him as ahead of the class."
"We reviewed multiplying and dividing decimals! The new curriculum teaches this visually and abstractly. I think this method is difficult for her, but I did see some success. I'm going to print out a review sheet for next session so that she can review visualization of decimals. I know that today was a lot of new information, and I was very proud of her. We will definitely continue to review these concepts, as they will only get easier with practice."
"We covered exponential functions, exponential rules, scientific notations, and negative exponents. The student is a focused young lady and very smart."
"The student did really well with probability questions today. He understood the concept of probability essentially meaning the number of chances for something to happen over the total number of chances. We did landing on a color on a spinner and rolling die questions, as well as some basic data analysis of frequency tables."
"The student passed his unit test, and now we are moving on to the next unit. We are starting to move forward with quadratic equations, which are the most important part of algebra. This topic is also difficult to comprehend, so I would like to spend a lot of time practicing this in particular."
