Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on Spanish for a bit, with the student completing an assignment that he had begun long ago. I believe that if he employs his critical thinking a bit more, he would be more successful with his vocabulary. His comprehension has increased since starting the Spanish app. I encourage him to continue with it to stay up to speed."
"We covered demonstrative adjectives (este/esta, ese/esa, aquel, aquella), verbs with spelling changes (poder, preferir, querer, venir, tener), sentences with tener (tener miedo de, tener ganas de, tener que, tener prisa, etc.), IR+a+ infinitives, and a+el= al. The student was most struggling with IR+a+infinitive but with more practice she will learn."
"Today, we reviewed characters on the student's sheet, which was given to her as homework. I showed her the difference between some simplified and traditional characters as they both appeared on the sheet. Then, we watched a video clip about the square dance in China. The first time, we watched at normal speed, and we studied it line by line the second viewing. She took a lot of notes."
"The student and I covered nouns for people, connecting word, basic structures, daily expressions, and other items."
"The student and I worked on pages from his workbook last night. This included several listening activities and lots of reading comprehension activities. We were able to complete all of the necessary assignments and had time to practice vocabulary."
"Went over the AP test format, did oral response work, worked on reading comprehension. We will need to work on expanding vocabulary for optimal test performance. Future sessions will work on common grammatical structures + vocabulary."
