I made step-by- step detailed instructions for every concept he was missing and showed him through examples how they worked. We spent the rest of the session completing his makeup work and going over his quiz corrections. I assigned him to complete the rest of his test corrections and homework."
"We focused on fraction/ decimal equivalence, percent problems, the use of direct translation to set up equations for certain types of word problems. The student demonstrated good estimating skills and his ability to find more efficient ways to determine answers to certain questions."
"We focused on geometry concepts, and we introduced the concept of similar triangles. We reviewed the rules and worked on some problems identifying whether or not the triangles were similar."
"We focused on the theorems and postulates relating angle pairs created by parallel lines being intersected by a transversal and using the converses of those theorems and postulates to prove that two lines are parallel if the angles have a certain relationship. The student took an online quiz that she aced at the end of the session, and she had an assignment from her course instructor and a relevant worksheet from me to work on for next time."
"We graded coordinate geometry homework and started trigonometry concepts (sine, cosine, tangent). Then, we graded reproductive system homework. Moved on to learn about genetic variation, evolution, Hardy Weinberg equilibrium, and allele frequency."
