Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we reviewed challenging math problems and formulated a strategy for which types of math questions the student should practice most in the weeks to come."
"We covered vocabulary and essay writing. He did very well on the last critical reading practice test. We will continue to work with essay writing."
"We went over math practice sections in the book, and then part of section 2 in practice test 1. We will be finishing practice test 1 and focusing on reading comprehension next time."
"We began by discussing the student's learning style and the preparation for the exam. We then started with Ser and Estar as well as articles. We also spent time doing a few readings with questions. He did well and has a great knowledge base! I will send him homework to work on these items as well as prep for the next session."
"We began by going over the student's homework. He struggled most with the Reading passage that he thought was easy. We discussed how the SAT asks much more in-depth questions for the Reading passage and that he still needed to think critically even though the content was easy. We then did some guided practice from the Math section. We went over solutions to quadratic equations, vertex form, completing the square, and systems of equations with no solution. I assigned the student an entire practice test as homework."
"We began by going over the student's homework. She had only done about a third, so we finished reviewing it together and then went back over the questions from the part she had done on her own that she got wrong. We then spent the rest of the time practicing the reading test. The student continues to struggle with mental math and her times tables. She seems to have more focus as our sessions progress."
