Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over factorization, finding the equation from the root, and synthetic division. He understands most of the material, and all the key concepts."
"Today the student and I went over the basics of his pre-calculus course. The nature of the class is a hybrid online-in-class format, so we will be going over online content. Thus, he completed a homework module and started another online one today. I covered concepts to refresh the student on ideas, and he was able to keep up with the material. We will continue working on this during our next session."
"We worked on chapter four review, working with exponential functions and logarithms. We covered using the rules of logs, solving exponential and logarithmic equations, and using the compound interest formula. The student is a good student and good at math, picks up the material very well and almost never makes mistakes!"
"We had a general review of our problem solving strategies for simple factorization and simplification of mathematical expressions. We focused on the kind of problems the student got on her quiz, and what will most likely come up on her test. We created a flowchart that will make it easier for her to keep in mind the things she can try and what to look for in the problems. We discussed the likeliness of certain kind of problems coming up to define a testing strategy. The student definitely seems more confident on identifying what strategies to use."
"We went over how to set up a table in a graphing calculator for trig work. We also went over some trig proofs and SAT questions."
"Tonight the student did her homework and we reviewed a little bit for her quiz tomorrow. We specifically worked with trigonometry functions and identities. We worked on simplifying complicated combinations of trigonometric functions including fractions. We then worked on proving trigonometric identities algebraically. She is very smart and has a great attitude."
