Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This was my first session with the student. It went well. I believe I raised his confidence for the test."
"Worked textbook problems on applications for acute triangles, including area of a triangle, the law of sines, and the law of cosines. We will conclude our pre-exam preparation on Wednesday evening with a full concept review and more problems."
"Today we reviewed two sections on the relationship between arc length and angle of inscribed angles, tangent, secant and chord segments. We then moved on to cover theorems on chord length proportionality, quadrilateral angle congruencies, and chord lengths in cases of tangents and secants meeting at a point outside of the circle. In addition to preparing for her next test on Friday, we got the good news that the student received a 96% percent on her last quiz. Her only mistake was forgetting to put a plus/minus sign when solving for a square root, and did all of the geometry perfectly. I look forward to similar results in the future."
"The student has just started learning about probability. We went through a worksheet and discussed the differences between independent/dependent and mutually exclusive events. It was a great start. He needs to solve more examples to understand the concept perfectly."
"For this session, we went through surface area, lateral area, and volume of a cylinder, pyramid, sphere, and rectangular prisms. Once he recognized the formula to utilize, he showed the ability to solve. We went through practice problems recognizing the amount of edges of a prism, the faces and vertices. I advised him to continue to go through additional problems prior to his test on Thursday. By the end of the session, he seemed to have a good grasp of the material."
"Reviewed proofs about (converse of) theorems/postulate of parallel lines and transversals; practiced one chapter test."
