I worked on solving linear equations with the student, and made sure he was comfortable with negatives in the equations. He seemed to have a positive attitude, and worked hard during the session. I also worked on solving functions and reading graphs with his sister. We worked on her review sheet, and she was doing a good job with the material. More practice will help her grasp the material in no time.

I worked with both students this evening to help them prepare for upcoming assessments. Student one and I reviewed a number of concepts including linear pairs, vertical angles, and other key concepts from his review packet. As usual he did well with the material, and is set to succeed on his test. Student two has a quiz regarding mixtures using ratios, proportions, and fractions. She has some difficulty translating word problems into proportions and equations, so this is a primary focus of ours for the time to come. We will likely meet again soon to continue working on this. Overall I think she is prepared for her quiz, but she also has a test later in the week for which we may need to review.
