I retired after 34 years of teaching . However, I still teach senior citizens through our public library and I give presentations on NASA missions to public groups. I guess I will never stop teaching.

I have taught both math and science on multiple levels including middle school, high school, a some college classes. I have tutored privately as long as I've been teaching in classrooms. It's my chance to really get into the specific parts the students need. In classes not everyone is stuck on the same thing and individuals or small groups allow the teacher to see where the missing part is and can fix it.

I had one child I tutored starting in 4th grade through 10th grade. His teacher in 4th grade said not to expect too much from him which made me angry. His parents thought that he was probably not going to make it through high school like his brothers but we fought through his difficulties and his parents recently saw me and told me he has two master's degrees. There are many more success stories like that.
