As a graduate of The University of The West Indies, and Rutgers University, my career has given me the opportunity to interact with students from varying academic levels, socio-economic, and ethnic backgrounds. Too often I have found that students are frustrated because they were taught the rules and vocabulary but yet they are not 'fluent' in the language.
My approach - Acquisition Driven Instruction, has been successful in helping students to acquire - not simply learn about the language. How is this achieved? By incorporating various activities and techniques that target the different modes of communication.
I am a music enthusiast so very often I use songs as a spring board or follow-up to my classes.
Outside of class I enjoy yoga.
