I have a B.A. from University of South Florida with a major in Psychology and a minor in Rehab Counseling. I also have an A.S. In nursing from University of Indianapolis.
I have over 30 years of experience in Healthcare as a Registered Nurse. From bedside hands-on patient care to supervision, management, & education. For the last part of my full-time employment I reviewed patient files, coded diagnoses, edited plans of care, educated & coached staff in all aspects of home care.
As a tutor, I teach adults covering a wide range of subjects, including English, ESL/ELL. I teach writing to improve writing skills, especially grammar and story-telling. I teach writing in the healthcare field, college writing, ICD/CPT coding, quality improvement, & improving resumes & cover letters.
As a student, English was always my strongest area and my favorite. Reading and the rules of English came naturally to me. I'm always reading, even if there is nothing in reach but a shampoo bottle. Reading is like breathing to me. If I can give any part of that to someone who wants to learn, that would be awesome.
