I am a retired university and high school athletic trainer and athletic director. I have two degrees in Sport Management from Bowling Green State University. My Bachelor's degree is in athletic training and Master's degree is in athletic administration.
Currently, I work in a middle school (5th & 6th grade) every day as a substitute teacher. I have experience teaching:
English/Language Arts, Social Studies, Science and Math. Lately, I have spent most of my days teaching math or working as a learning support teacher. I enjoy being in the classroom working with students to identify the problem and then solve the problem, whatever the subject matter may be.
I believe that you develop your academic skills much in the same way that you develop athletic skills. You must conquer the basics of your core skills and then build to add more complex portions. I meet students where they are and develop a plan to move forward.
I am an avid reader and believe that if you want to be a good writer, you need to read as much as you are able to expand your vocabulary and explore other writer's styles.
