I like to see students learn, succeed, and grow successfully in their careers and life. I have worked with students for over 20 years. I had a tough time my first year in college, too many distractions. Once I saw the value of learning, I was hooked and have been a lifelong learner.
I have worked with a variety of learning models. The one I use most with finance is Concept, Model, Computations. Learn the concept first, then work with the mathematical models, then grab the variables to suit the computations.
My teaching philosophy is to understand the material first, then work the problems. I would steer you to deeper comprehensive learning rather than seek the "right answer". Learning takes time and patience.
