After earning my bachelors degree from Columbia University, I taught at the elementary and middle school levels and then transitioned into experiential education, leading educational travel programs in China, Latin America, and the U.S. Additionally, I worked as a tutor during high school and college with elementary, middle school, high school, and adult students. This experience working with a variety of students in both academic and experiential settings has given me a diverse toolbox of teaching strategies that allows me to tailor my approach to each student's individual learning style.
The subjects in which I can tutor include Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, English literature and composition, elementary and middle school math, English for non-native speakers, and test prep for SAT and ACT.
Learning is one of the greatest joys in life. It opens up new perspectives and new opportunities. In a good learning environment, students feel engaged and excited, pushing themselves to build skills and overcome challenges. This is the learning environment I seek to provide for every one of my students.
Undergraduate Degree: Columbia University in the City of New York - Bachelor in Arts, Anthropology
I love getting outside in the mountains near where I live: hiking, rock-climbing, skiing, and camping. I also enjoy gardening, reading (fiction and non-fiction), and playing board games or making music with friends.
