Ever since my first tutoring experience with middle-schoolers as an undergraduate, I have deeply enjoyed working with kids, adolescents, and adults in a variety of subjects. I believe tutoring and teaching are wonderful investments in other people, and I love witnessing my students' victories, big and small. I tend to take a more Socratic, questioning approach to teaching, and I would much rather guide a student's thinking or teach them about how to find answers than simply provide them. I try to strengthen more generalizable skills that will be helpful across a variety of subjects and tasks, and I believe in a strength-based approach to teaching. I also try my best to bring a lot of enthusiasm, concrete examples, and humor.

I'm currently pursing my PhD in Psychology at Syracuse University, and I have a B.A. in English and Psychology from University of Colorado Boulder. I have worked with elementary-aged students on reading and writing in a behavioral clinic, volunteered as a reading and math tutor with middle schoolers, and served as a teaching assistant and instructor of record for psychology courses at Syracuse University.

My specific area of expertise is psychology, but I have also extensively studied the challenges that students face in reading and writing, as well as the best practices for addressing these difficulties. I have worked extensively with students with autism and ADHD, and I have a soft spot for working with students with these diagnoses.

Outside of teaching and academics, my #1 favorite activity is spending time with my 2-year-old nephew and infant niece. I also have a lifelong passion for animals, and I spend a lot of time snuggling with my cat and dog. I'm also an avid college basketball fan (go Colorado State!), and I love playing and listening to music.
