I graduated from Webster University in St. Louis with my Master of Arts in Teaching with an emphasis on English and Communication after completing my Bachelor of Science in Secondary English. I have taught high school and college English for twenty years. My favorite subjects are any kind of writing for English classes and literature ranging from middle school selections to Shakespearean and Victorian novels and plays. I have worked as an online writing tutor for twenty years where I help students work to improve their writing and prepare final drafts for submission to their instructors. I have experience helping students learn strategies for the English, Reading and Writing sections of the ACT and the PRAXIS in English. I would love to share my experience and help students achieve their goals. When I am not teaching I enjoy reading, cooking, and hiking. My favorite travels have been to Germany and Alaska, and I want to continue to explore the world.
On a beautiful fall morning, I love to go hiking. I have hiked in Germany, Alaska, Tennessee, and my home state of Missouri. My favorite reading selections come from the 19th and 20th centuries both American and British. My favorite British author is Thomas Hardy, and my top pick for American novels is F. Scott Fitzgerald. My all time favorite book is In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. I love to cook and bake. Chopping and mixing fresh ingredients is so enjoyable and relaxing for me.
