Music is my life and teaching is my passion. My goals as a music educator are to instill a sense of music appreciation and ignite creativity in every student, while teaching life lessons.
I hold a B.A. in Music Performance from Clark Atlanta University and an M.S. in Music Education from Tennessee State University. I've also completed a non-degree teacher certification program through Georgia State University. I have over 20+ years of coaching youth and young adults in the area of Performing Arts (music, dance, drama) and 15 years of certified teaching experience in the school system. I've taught every level from elementary to college and many courses from band to chorus to drama.
I am also a private tutor/clinician for many students in the area of clarinet and piano, with 30+ years of playing experience on both instruments. I have served as an online tutor for VIPKid, where I was responsible for teaching English to Chinese students.
In addition to my teaching experience, I also serve as manager and acting coach for my daughters, who are professional performers. Through my leadership, they have been afforded many wonderful opportunities in TV/Film and Theatre.
As you can probably guess, I don't always have a lot of "free" time, but when I do, I love spending it with my family. I'm also a big fan of hip hop (music and dance), watching movies and TV comedies, and live music.
