I am a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown (UPJ) in Elementary Education K-6. I have 2 Masters, one in Guidance and Counseling K-12 from Frostburg State University and Library Science K-12 from St. Vincent University. I began as a substitute in many grades, worked in 4th grade in a private school for 8 years. I was then hired in a public school in 4th grade for 6 years. I moved into the library where I teach PK-7. I see the older students when they need help with research or just come to the library to check out books. I love to read which was my motivation to get a Masters in Library Science. I love to encourage my students to read books that are of interest to them. Reading is a way to learn vocabulary without the repetition that is taught in Reading class. I really enjoy history which goes back to the love of reading. When I go on vacation with my family I also research the area to find historical places and events. I enjoy teaching math because there is always a right answer. Of course I enjoy reading and I make cards to give to my friends and family.
