I am a graduate of the University of North Texas in Denton and Texas A & M Commerce. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (UNT) with a minor in English. My Masters of Science (A & M) was in education administration. I'm recently retired after 31 years in what was for me, the BEST experience I could have ever imagined. I'm ESL certified and have four years working with students directly from Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. There was no curriculum at that time for ESL, so the first months and years were focused on teaching survival English including researching and writing curriculum that would meet those needs. I'm "grandfathered" certified in Gifted and Talented and have 18 years teaching in the areas of reading and math, K- 5. My favorite areas to tutor are subjects within the English Language Arts genre. My passion lies with reading and writing. I believe those subjects can take my students anywhere. My last nine years, I was a curriculum specialist researching and writing online curriculum including district benchmarks and assessments, monitoring and mentoring teachers, and modeling current teaching practices for them.

In my opinion, education at all levels is the key to improving your quality of life and opening up a world of opportunities. My charge for 31 years was to provide that for numerous students and it continues today.
