I am a graduate of the Concordia University System for my Doctorate and Masters, both in Education, and the Texas A&M University System for my Bachelors in history and journalism. After a career in law as a trial paralegal, I fulfilled my childhood dream of becoming a teacher! I have been in education for over 20 years and have been a classroom teacher, a gifted teacher, and teacher trainer I've taught and tutored over 1,500 students, many of whom are now doctors, nurses, and lawyers. As a school district director, I oversaw PK-12 educational programs, including gifted, reading intervention, English as a Second Language, writing, advanced academics, and dyslexia. I'm passionate about helping students of all ages figure out how to be successful in all areas of academia. Everyone CAN learn is my teaching philosophy! I tutor English, Literature, Reading, writing at all levels, including collegiate. I also tutor social studies and history, as well as study habits and organizational skills. My favorite areas to tutor are Reading and study skills/organizational skills, as these are often the leverage to be successful in other subjects and the success of my students is my greatest joy! My tutoring style is calm with a bit of humor we work hard but we also have fun. In my spare time I enjoy reading, going for hikes in the mountains and beaches, and trying out new recipes.
