I am a graduate of Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor's of Arts in Modern Language and Culture. The two languages I chose to focus on were french as first language and spanish as second. While I was studying, I participated in a study abroad trip to Benin, Africa. During my visit, I had the opportunity to teach french to children at various schools and an orphanage. This experience marked me very deeply because I was able to share my culture and teach at the same time. I have also volunteered at a Montessori school where I engaged the students to learn French by reading, singing, drawing and teaching simple commands. Education in general is important and learning a language can open many doors and can provide us with new perspectives to look at the world around us.
