I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Print Journalism, with an English minor, from Howard University. I completed a Fellowship with the Institute for Educational Leadership. I earned my MBA, with an emphasis in Management, from Strayer University.
For two years, I tutored at an elementary school, in Alexandria, Virginia, when I worked as a Researcher/Assistant Editor, at Time-Life Books, Inc. I taught U.S. and Virginia History and English Literature, at an Alternative Program, within a public high school, in Alexandria, Virginia, where I taught for three years. I taught ESL, part-time, for 13 years, at an Adult Education Program, also in Alexandria, as well as some other Northern Virginia locations. For close to 10 years, I taught university students, both Online and at brick-and-mortar campuses, in Arlington and Newport News, Virginia. I primarily taught a wide variety of Business courses, and taught some English courses, as well.
I am most passionate about learning and helping to inspire my students to love learning. Business, English, Writing, and Reading are the subjects I enjoy teaching the most. Even though these subjects may not be as glamorous or trendy as some others, I feel they are essential parts of the foundations of education, career building, and life skills.
School is work, yet it can also be enjoyable.
