I am a graduate of the University of Texas at the Permian Basin. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History with a focus on Elementary Education. I hold a lifetime teaching certification from the state of Texas. I am a career educator with 24 years experience working in the public school system. I have primary worked with students in grades kindergarten to fifth grades. While I tutor many subjects, I am most passionate about elementary mathematics and early reading skills. I have had the opportunity in the last 9 years to work with a mathematics curriculum and instruction team where I helped develop and vet math curriculum for grades K-5. I also recently completed a state level course in the Science of teaching Reading. My tutoring experience started while in high school. I often tutored my peers and a few younger students. As I moved into college I tutored elementary aged students in the evenings and on weekends. Since becoming a classroom teacher I have tutored hundreds of students before and after school. As an educator and life long learner, I believe that education leads to a better quality of life. I work to instill the importance of education and learning as a life long pursuit in all my students. Outside of school, teaching and tutoring I enjoy painting, crafting and spending time with my family.
