I am a graduate of Brevard College, Florida State University and Stetson University. I received an AA Degree from Brevard College and an Elementary Education Degree from Florida State University. I then went on to earn a Master's Degree in Special Education from Stetson University. I have 22+ years of teaching experience in the public school system in Florida. The majority of my teaching experience has been in the elementary levels K-4 (equally split between general education settings and ESE settings). However, I have also co-taught sixth grade language arts where the focus was on writing. I have the most teaching experience in third grade where I helped prepare students for the state assessments given in both reading and math. I have also worked with children in a volunteer capacity at my church and a non profit children's home in my community. Given support and encouragement, I believe that EVERYONE has the ability to make improvements in anything that initially seems challenging and that we learn the most from our mistakes. My favorite things to do are spending time with my family, bicycling and reading.
