At Yale University I earned a bachelor's degree in liberal arts and a PhD in Molecular Cell Biology. I then conducted postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School. As an undergraduate, I excelled not only in science but also in writing-intensive subjects such as English literature, history, philosophy, economics, art & architecture, and multiple foreign languages. I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for both science and the humanities with diverse students of all ages.
In addition to teaching in both public and private schools, I've built a successful career in biotechnology with an emphasis on medical communications. At a publicly-traded biotech company, I drafted official press releases and corporate presentations that were widely distributed to the investment community. At a biomedical consulting firm, I produced high-science deliverables for senior executives at global pharmaceutical companies. In this role, I led a multidisciplinary team of in-house oncology experts, project managers, account executives, copy editors and illustrators. Together, we created educational materials (slide kits, print pieces, digital media, animated videos, and interactive exhibit kiosks) targeted to specific audiences, from practicing physicians to university researchers to cancer patients.
My tutoring style is creative, patient, and collaborative. During our one-on-one lessons, we'll work together to identify your specific strengths and weaknesses and design a customized program to meet your individual needs rather than those of a mixed group of students in an overcrowded classroom. You are an academic athlete. I am your coach, cheerleader, personal trainer, and number one fan!
