I recently graduated college (JMU) with a bachelor's degree in French and I would like to help other students succeed in doing so as well! I recognize that not all students learn the same way, and it will be my pleasure to come up with unique ways to help all students that I come in contact with!
I've always had the drive and a passion for helping people. With that being said, my tutoring background goes back to high school where I helped a classmate with algebra. It then continued into college during my studies of the French language that I also tutored a student in French.
Beyond that, as part of my studies in college, I participated in a program called AVID where high school-aged students signed up for an elective in which they brought worksheets, tests, etc. from other classes and we worked together to encourage them in the right direction towards understanding concepts in multiple different classes, from mathematics to science to English. In addition, I was also a French student teacher for a semester at a high school and two middle schools near my home.
My favorite subjects to tutor are French and math. I fell in love with French in middle school, and I kept throughout the rest of my educational journey, so naturally it's my top pick regarding subjects to tutor. I also picked up mathematics easily in school and took advanced classes starting in middle school; for example, I took algebra in 7th grade and geometry in 8th grade and calculus by the time I was done with high school!
In my spare time, I enjoy a game of Scrabble and listening to music!
