I have been an RN for over 13 years and have had a variety of work experiences in Pediatrics from ICU, community health to management. Through it all I have always loved teaching and learning. I worked as a preceptor to new hires in the PICU, completed courses to learn advanced critical care skills and went on to complete my MSN from University of Arizona in 2019. I understand the expectations placed on students and the coursework as I have worked in the field to apply nursing knowledge and been a recent student myself. I enjoy helping others along their path in Nursing and I believe that your success as an educated RN contributes to the wellbeing of our communities.
Nursing is my second Bachelors Degree as my first was in Physiology from Michigan State University. I am a lover of ALL health sciences and I enjoy helping others master the concepts of nursing courses like Pathophysiology, Adult Medicine, Pediatrics, OB and Pharmacology. Testing and NCLEX preparation are also areas that I enjoy working on. I utilized Kaplan testing strategies to successfully complete the NCLEX - they do a great job at teaching students how to take the test and transfer academic knowledge to testing taking strategy!
Finally, I am a tutor that understands the stress that students are under. Not only do I work to ensure that key concepts are understood, but that students feel supported and confident about what they are learning. Staying motivated and positive also contributes to successful outcomes. I will work with you to determine how you learn best and what motivates you as a learner. I am excited to contribute to your success as you start your career in Nursing!
